Five ways to squeeze in morning skin care musts

"6:55 a.m. Hit snooze. 7:20 a.m. Hit snooze again (one last time). 7:30 a.m. Hit the floor running (so much to do!). 8:10 a.m. Get to the train on time (phew). 8:11 a.m. Why is my skin so dry and itchy… oh yeah, forgot to put on moisturizer (again)."
If this sounds a lot like your morning routine, you're not alone in not finding time to take care of your skin. Here are some ways save time and prepare your body's largest organ and greatest protector to face the day fresh, safeguarded and radiant looking.
Challenge: No time to shave before your shower.
Solution: Shave in the shower while your hair conditioner is on. Apply a little extra conditioner to your legs to ease shaving, and the extra moisturizer in it will save you from putting body lotion on your legs afterwards.
Challenge: No time to cleanse your face.
Solution: If you have dry or sensitive skin, just splashing your face with water in the shower is fine (as long as you follow a good nighttime skin care ritual). If you have oily skin, use a facial cleansing wipe just before popping in the shower or just after (it takes 2 seconds).
Challenge: No time to put on body lotion after your shower.
Solution: Use a combined moisturizing body wash in the shower. And keep a little travel tube of moisturizing cream handy that can be applied to dry spots as needed throughout the day.
Challenge: No time to moisturize your face and put on makeup.
Solution: If you have to choose one, always moisturize and apply sunscreen. Choose a combined product such as a tinted moisturizer with sunscreen (and apply it to your neck and décolletage – anywhere that will be exposed to UV rays). Alternatively, you can mix a little concealer or foundation in with your combined moisturizer/sunscreen lotion before applying.
Challenge: Puffy eyes (and no time for a 5-minute tea-bag treatment)
Solution: Draw attention away from your under eye by applying a heavy liner to your top lids and several coats of mascara.
With these morning skin care tips you can feel free to hit the snooze button one extra time and not short-change your crack-of-dawn skin care rituals.
